The climb typically follows the Southwest Ridge, the standard route, which involves three main camps above Base Camp.

After arriving at TIA Airport Kathmandu, you must take an arrival visa from the immigration of Nepal for your stay in Nepal. However (15,30,90days), if you want to spend time in Nepal, you must pay ($30 for 15 days, 50 for 30 days). We also want to inform you that you may take up to 3 hours to complete all the procedures. It may vary according to the schedule of the plane and flight that you are coming from.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Jolly Himalaya and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, a popular tourist hub, or rest after your long journey. In the evening, the team will conduct a briefing session covering the expedition plan, safety measures, and gear requirements. Nepal.
This day is dedicated to expedition preparation. You will meet your guides and fellow climbers, conduct a final gear check, and obtain necessary climbing permits. If needed, you can buy or rent additional equipment from Kathmandu’s well-stocked mountaineering stores. You may also explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, or Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) before an early evening rest.
An early morning scenic flight takes you to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Upon arrival, we begin trekking towards Phakding, passing through lush green forests, small villages, and suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Phakding.
Today’s trek follows the Sagarmatha National Park trail, crossing several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. A steep climb leads to Namche Bazaar, the bustling Sherpa town known as the “Gateway to Everest.” Here, you will get your first clear views of Everest and Ama Dablam. Overnight stay in Namche.

To adjust to the increasing altitude, we take a short hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880m), where we enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Nuptse. You can explore Namche’s local markets, visit the Sherpa Museum, or relax at cozy cafés.
The trail continues through rhododendron forests and small villages, offering mesmerizing views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and Thamserku. A final ascent brings us to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual center of the Khumbu region.

Leaving Tengboche, we descend through lush rhododendron and juniper forests, crossing a suspension bridge over the Imja Khola River. The trail then ascends to Pangboche (3,930m), the last major Sherpa village before Base Camp. After a brief rest and a visit to the historic Pangboche Monastery, we continue our journey, leaving the main Everest trail and ascending a rugged path along a grassy ridge. As we gain altitude, the views of Ama Dablam, Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse become more breathtaking. Upon reaching Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,570m), we set up camp and settle in for the night, preparing for the upcoming climbing phase.
These days are crucial for acclimatization and training. The team will conduct technical climbing practice, including the use of fixed ropes, ascenders, and harnesses. We also do short hikes to higher elevations to aid adaptation.
We follow a rotation strategy between Base Camp and higher camps to acclimatize before making the final summit push. The climb is divided into several stages:
After a successful summit and a well-deserved rest at Base Camp, we begin our descent, retracing our steps towards the Khumbu Valley. The trail leads us down to Pangboche (3,930m), where we take a short break and enjoy the final close-up views of Ama Dablam. Continuing further, we descend through Tengboche, passing by the famous Tengboche Monastery one last time. From here, we follow the familiar trail through forests and suspension bridges, eventually reaching the bustling town of Namche Bazaar (3,440m). This is our final night in the heart of the Himalayas, where we celebrate the success of our expedition with the team before heading back to Lukla.

This extra day serves as a buffer in case of flight delays or adverse weather conditions in Lukla. You can use the time for sightseeing or shopping for souvenirs.
On the last day of the Ama Dablam Expedition with Jolly Himalaya, you will prepare for your departure from Kathmandu. After an early breakfast at the hotel, you can spend some time packing your belongings and reflecting on your incredible journey through the Khumbu Himalayas. If your flight is scheduled later in the day, you may have a few hours to explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, picking up souvenirs or enjoying a final cup of Nepali tea or coffee.
Our team will arrange a comfortable transfer from your hotel to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), ensuring you arrive at least three hours before your flight for check-in and security clearance. As you bid farewell to Nepal, you’ll take with you unforgettable memories of summiting Ama Dablam (6,812m), breathtaking Himalayan landscapes, and the warmth of Sherpa hospitality.
